Candico's special sugars are produced according to centuries-old principles. Based on traditional craftsmanship, in relatively small quantities and with a great deal of patience. And that shows in the taste! Our candy and cane sugars have a full and rich flavour.
Candy Sugar
Our sugar masters produce the candy by dissolving raw sugar in pure water. They stir gently while heating. The heat causes the sugar to slowly caramelise and take on its beautiful golden colour. We then allow the candy to cool slowly. In peace and quiet. The more time we take for this, the more beautiful the candy crystals become. Making candy therefore requires not only craftsmanship, but above all patience. Patience that is rewarded with golden crystals.
Cane Sugar
Cane sugar feels right at home in the Burgundian Belgian cuisine. It gives dishes such as stews, crème brûlée, waffles and pancakes their authentic flavour. And it adds an aromatic touch to coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Did you know that Candico was the first Belgian company to be able to call its entire range of cane sugars Fairtrade? Even now, our products carry this fair trade label or come from organic farming.
