D'arbo Austrian Artisanal Jam

Authentic

D'arbo stands for Austrian authentic jams. A true family business with many generations still active in the business. As mentioned, an Austrian company, founded in 1879. The first location was in Görz, but during the 1st World War the factory was completely destroyed and the family later rebuilt it in Stans (Tyrol). Even then, Tyrol was already a tourist area so the launch of jams in foodservice soon took off. Later, the company also started expanding into retail. In addition to these segments, the company later also started focusing on bulk consumption for in bakeries and patisseries.

Spreads

A number of important standards are always observed with every product.
The products must be pure, full of flavour and artisanally prepared. It is also important that products contain pieces of fruit and a high percentage of pulp. Important for the company is that products have their terroir. Which means that fruits are sourced where they have the optimal growing conditions. As with wine, for other fruits, the influence of the soil, environment and weather determine the quality of the fruit. For good reason, D'arbo stands for 140 years of craftsmanship. Besides jam, the company also has products like honey and hazelnut, all of high quality, even halal and kosher certified. Besides cups and jars, the company also offers the option of a hygiene self-service pump.

Real Jam

But what is jam and when is something jam? Or is it a spread or a jam? You can't just call a product jam, there are commodity law rules for that. These stipulate that at least 35g per 100g must consist of fruit pulp, and do you want to call a product extra jam? Then it must be 45g per 100g.
The percentage of sugar is also important. Namely, this must be 55% and only a few things may be added to jam, such as pectin, honey, fruit juice. D'arbo products meet these requirements, there are even jams with 55% fruit pulp! This gives the products a full fruit flavour.
